Nature of the Work

Electrical/Mechanical repair & maintenance of processing and packaging equipment used in the Grain, Feed, Seed and other Industries. This position requires extensive travel. Ideal candidate must work well independently and must be a self-starter.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties include troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial type sewing equipment, bag handling & filling equipment, stretch wrapping equipment, robotic palletizing equipment, and grain cleaning equipment both in our shop and on location at customer’s facilities.
Provide start-up & training support for all equipment lines we supply.
Candidate will also provide phone support for customers and outside sales force.
Candidate will maintain an inventory of necessary repair parts and tools.
Provide detailed maintenance reports for customers and accurate reporting of time & materials used to complete required tasks.
Help to maintain a clean, safe working environment for themselves and other technicians.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills

Knowledge in the use of personal computers and Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Software.
Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, understand and comply with technical instructions/manuals.
Knowledge of motor control methods.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics diagrams.
Knowledge of variable speed frequency drives and inverters.
Knowledge and use of hand tools and small power tools; drills grinders etc.

Education and Experience

Satisfactory completion of a two year (minimum), post secondary Vocational/Technical school of study in one or more of the following areas; electrical, electronics, robotics, mechanical systems or maintenance engineering and 1-4 year industrial experience; or
High school diploma or its equivalent and 2-6 years industrial maintenance experience.

Other Requirements

Extensive travel will be required.
Candidate should possess or be able to obtain a passport.
Must have clean driving record and valid drivers license.
Candidate may be asked to work weekends, 2^nd or 3^rdShifts, and some holidays.
Candidate will be asked to work in harsh environments such as hot or cold weather conditions, dust and some possible hazardous conditions.
Candidate may be required to work on elevated platforms or scaffolding and in confined spaces.
Be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Drug & Alcohol testing per customer requirements, subject to state law.
