Oat, Barley, and Wheat Steaming and Conditioning Equipment
Steam, cook, and sterilize cereals and legumes with Schule’s heat treating and hydrothermal conditioning equipment.
Schule Steaming Screw
The Schule Steaming Screw uses hydrothermal steaming process to treat and prepare cereals and legumes for the kiln-drying and flaking process. There are two different ways to achieve hydrothermal treatment with this machine: adding steam directly into the screw via nozzles or indirectly adding steam to the outer housing of the screw which heats product slowly and gently.
Schule Steaming Screw Features
- Nozzles for direct steam application
- Double housing for indirect steam application
- All stainless-steel construction
- Frequency converters to ensure continuous regulation of speed
- Specially shaped and arranged mixing paddles to move product
Schule Steaming Screw Benefits
- Efficient treatment
- Optimum retention time
- Simple, compact, and sturdy design
- Prepares product for kilning or flaking
Material Types
- Spelt
- Wheat
- Barley
- Rye
- Oats
Schule Hydrothermal Conditioner
The hydrothermal conditioner is ideal for starch gelatinization, inactivation of lipolytic enzymes, and preparing product for flaking. Its special hollow shaft with paddles ensures uniform exposure to the steam treatment of 194-212° F (90-100°C) and then moves product to a tempering zone to finish treatment.
Schule Hydrothermal Conditioner Features
• All stainless-steel construction
• Rounded, hollow shaft for uniform effect of steam
• Tempering zone
• Available in three sizes
Schule Hydrothermal Conditioner Benefits
- Low maintenance
- Versatile applications
- Uniform effect of the steam
- Prepares product for kilning or flaking
Material Types
- Legumes
- Cereals
- Feed mixtures
- Rapeseed
- Cotton seed
Schule Kiln
The kiln increases the shelf life and improves the taste of cereals via heat treatment process that inactivates lipolytic enzymes and gives cereals a nutty aroma. The kiln consists of a pre-kiln steamer for direct application of steam, which then feeds the product through additional compartments that apply indirect steam to inactivate the enzymes and enhance the flavor of the product.
Schule Kiln Features
- Surge bin with steamer
- Heating compartments with vapor-extraction channels
- Discharge hopper
- Integrated stainless steel flow meter to regulate retention of the product
- Cooling unit for uniform product cooling
- Available in five sizes
Schule Kiln Benefits
- Increased product shelf life
- Improved taste
- Hygienic operation by separating the heating and cooling compartment
- Lower overall height and thus lower building costs
- Improved regulation of the heating and cooling times
Material Types
- Oats
- Buckwheat
